Born in 1987 into a family of hairdressers, Marki Shkreli's interest in hair was sparked at an early age. Having mentored under Detroit legend David Presley, whom was 100 years old when they both met, Marki was encouraged to move from his hometown in Michigan to New York City in 2005.
During assisting top session hairdressers such as Guido Palau and Sam McKnight, Marki began a portrait series of models that he both styled and shot himself. After living in Paris and becoming the Creative Director of Leonor Greyl Paris in 2012, His talent was spotlighted when he was booked on his first editorial as an independent hairdresser for Service Magazine. He has since collaborated with the industry's top fashion photographers and stylists, including Carine Roitfeld, Ezra Petronio, Venetia Scott, Camilla Nickerson, Charlotte Wales, and Zoe Ghertner.
His work appears in Vogue, I-D, Dazed, Harper's Bazaar, and Pop. Celebrity clients include Drew Barrymore, Emma Watson, Tilda Swinton, Pamela Anderson, Christina Aguilera, Victoria Beckham and Elle Fanning to name a few.
Marki is based between New York and Paris.
